Pineapple Tropic Smoothie & Quick Crunch-Free Core Workout

So I was shopping for smoothie greens the other day when I came across a local brand of Baby Asian Blend greens.  I just happened to be shopping with my Asian baby, so I took it as a sign that I should take a break from Kale or Spinach.  I mixed these greens with some pineapple, banana and almond milk, with a little chia seed love for good measure.  My baby and I loved it.  Try it out for yourself.

A Couple of My Favorite People Smoothie

I’m following my favorite things smoothie from a couple days ago with a smoothie dedicated to a couple of my favorite people – my brother Phil & his lovely new bride Gatisa. They got married over the weekend and yours truly was the best man (or The Groomsmen Operator). Not only was it a fun-filled weekend set in the beautiful backdrop of Santa Cruz, California, but the newlyweds also gave out what is likely to be the best, most-used wedding favor in history (by me anyway) – a large-and-in-charge monogrammed mason jar! I wanted to make sure the first smoothie I drank out of my new favorite glass was a winner, and to be honest…I CRUSHED IT!!  Check it out and see for yourself.

Post-Workout TropiKale PrOATein Smoothie

I woke up this morning and decided it was Mega-Burpee or “Man-Maker” Day (still cringe at that ridiculous name).  Forgot what Man-Makers are?  Let me refresh your memory.

Man Maker Demo

I advise using anywhere from 5 lb to 20+ lb dumbbells depending on how Hulk-Mode you’re feeling.  I used 10’s for 5 sets.  10’s may sound light, but trust me, they feel like 20’s by the last set.  Once you’re done, nothing better after a strength workout than a nice protein shake.  Today’s smoothie is a refreshing and filling oatmeal protein smoothie.  It’s got a bit of everything from greens to fruit to oats and then some.  DO IT.

Smoothie - PrOATein

1 Cup Frozen Chopped Pineapple/Mango Mix

1/4 Cup Steel Cut Organic Oats

1 Scoop Soy Free Vegetable Protein

1 Cup Organic Kale

1 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk

– Mangoes: vitamins A, B6, C, & E, antioxidants, fiber, magnesium, potassium and copper

– Oats: fiber and protein

– Kale: vitamins, A, B6 &C, potassium, copper, folic acid, calcium, iron, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin and zinc (MEGA-STACKED!!)
